Pirelli To Bring In More Changes Soon?

Postby Dev on Fri Jul 01, 2011 5:17 am

Here's some of the things Pirelli are proposing. Now what changes will YOU propose tyre wise?

As they look ahead to the 2013 season, Pirelli are hopeful of making 'faster' tyres and are toying with the idea of making a qualifying-specific tyre...

The tyre manufacturer's return to F1 has been largely hailed as a success, but the Italian outfit are not resting on their laurels as they look to make further improvements for next season.

"After Silverstone we will get together and show the teams a few things," Pirelli motorsport director Paul Hembery told Auto Motor und Sport.

"Maybe we will increase the number of different tyres; maybe we'll bring three compounds to a race, maybe with a total of six to choose from.

"I don't know yet. There are a lot of ideas."

One idea that is being mooted is that of a 'super sticky' tyre designed specifically for a one lap qualifying run.

"In the end for something like that, the decision is with the teams," Hembery said of the proposal.

"They might say no," he added.
