Shrek to go rallying

The Formula One season is over and with the winter testing period yet to begin, Robert Kubica will spend at least one weekend at the controls of a rally car.

The 24-year-old's name appears on the entry list for Sicily's Rally Taormina-Messina, where he will race at the wheel of a Renault Clio R3 on November 13th and 14th.

Rumours also point at the Pole's presence with the same car at the Rallye du Var in France two weeks later an event which features six-time World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb.

Kubica will be switching to the Renault F1 team next year; it is therefore not surprising to see him racing at the wheel of Renault machinery although Kubica already owns a former works Skoda Fabia WRC.

Renault F1 employee Shrek, retired from the Taormina-Messina Rally in Italy. He was driving a Renault Clio R3. His next rally is expected to be the Rallye du Var part of the French championship, where Loeb will also take part with his missus. Not sure which Citroen Loeb will use, its either his current C4 WRC or a C2 which he used to finish a highly impressive 3rd overall last year.
