You have to like the way Nasser is showing his team boss how to drive his own car :hihi:

Nasser is a good driver but has a shit car at his disposal.

Meanwhile Peterhansel re-gained the overall lead on Stage 4

The Hummers are moving backwards with Gordon down to 5th and Nasser down to 7th.

Among the big name drivers to drop out of the rally are Christian Lavielle and Matthias Kahle.

One, or even both, of the Hummer drivers are sure to follow....

There, a nice picture of Gerard's odd looking but very fast truck, to celebrate a De Rooy 1-2-3 on yesterdays stage and the overall classification as of today

Yeah those trucks do look unusual .

Interesting to note that as of Stage 4, the top three in the truck category are/were all rally car drivers. Bob Colsoul, Hans Stacey and of course Double World Rally Champion Massimo Biasion.

Unconfirmed reports suggest Argentinian Orlando Terracota is out of the rally because his American navigator Andy Grider( formerly Gordons codriver) quit the race because of heated arguments between the pair. ^o^ ^o^

Toyota driver Orlando Terranova's co-driver Andy Grider has quit the Dakar Rally in frustration after an argument on day four.

American Grider, who finished third in 2009 alongside Robby Gordon issued a statement regarding his withdrawal for "personal family reasons" but rumours of inter-team tension, and the poor English of the statement led to speculation that the excuse was a cover.

Team Overdrive manager Jean-Marc Fortin confirmed the truth on Thursday, telling Dakar television that the duo had begun arguing on day four.

"They started seriously arguing yesterday," Fortin said.

"Andy Grider the co-driver decided to quit and not start this morning."

Argentinian Terranova is popular in his home nation and was seeded eighth for the 2012 event.

Under Dakar Rally rules co-drivers can not be replaced mid-race.

I would like to know what they were arguing about. :hihi:

I think you have your Belgian rallyfreaks mixed up there, Gerard's navigator is called Tom Colsoul, I'm not sure he's the same guy as your Bob, or whether they are both the offspring of the Guy Colsoul

Its the same deal that saw the start of Jan Lammers' career as a dakar trucky regular, replacing Frits van Eerd in the "jumbo" truck.

One problem though is that Jos hasn't got a trucky drivers licence yet, but they are working on it.

Just heard he got arrested for beating up his ex g/f or something like that. What a loser. Even in motorsport he was a loser. :loser:

Jos Verstappen has been arrested in his native Netherlands. The former Benetton, Stewart and Minardi driver turned himself into police after fleeing the scene following an incident involving his 24-year-old ex-girlfriend, according to Flemish newspaper De Standaard.

Dutch police confirmed the arrest of a 39-year-old man after an incident in the southeastern city Roermond.

Unconfirmed media reports say Verstappen deliberately struck his former girlfriend – who was taken by ambulance to hospital with heavy bruises and abrasions – with a car. Verstappen was previously accused of beating his girlfriend.

“It’s definitely not the first time he does this,” the unnamed woman told RTL television. “I think now I need to go and hide – I don’t know what to expect now when he is released.”

In 2008, Verstappen was fined and sentenced to three months suspended jail time over an assault case involving his ex-wife. And more than ten years ago, he was convicted of assault after fracturing a man’s skull at a kart track.

Verstappen contested over 100 grands prix between 1994 and 2003.

He hit his ex g/f with a car???? Someone needs to bash this guys head in!

Nasser wins Stage 7 but Peterhansel still holds overall lead.

Looks very likely that Mr Dakar will win for the 10th time. :armchair:
