I don't mind some of those Fords.

Very crazy rally Portugal, Loeb out, both factory Fords crashed and are now 9th and 15th. This was Ford's big opportunity (with Loeb out) and they blew it. :loser:

Jari-Matti continues to do his best to get fired, as he breaks his collarbone during a skiing training accident. He's unable to take part in Rally Argentina, Dani Sordo, rather than one of the guys in the Ford Junior team, is to replace him for the event.

Malcolm Wilson must be one of the most patient and peaceloving men in the world. He's putting Ghandi to shame the way he keeps forgiving and forgetting all of the non-results that Latvala and Wilson jr keep delivering.

Latvala reminds me of Colin and Ari. They used to crash a lot.

I thought Latvala was a brand of coffee.

Today is the great Hannu Mikkola's birthday. He is 70 years old!! What a legend in motorsport. _O_ _O_ _O_

Mikkola holds the record for being the oldest ever World Rally Champion. He became WC at the age of 41 back in 1983.

Hannu has driven for many teams in his illustrious career. He has driven for Peugeot, Ford, Audi, Fiat, Opel, Mazda, Subaru, Datsun, Volvo, Toyota and Porsche. But he is best remembered for driving Fords and Audis.

Mikkola became the first foreigner to win the Swedish Rally(1981) and also first foreigner to win the Safari Rally ( 1972)

Mikkola was inducted into the Rally Hall of Fame in 2011.

He's had a lot of employers.

Michael Schumacher will not become an older world champion than Mikkola.

That's not that old is it? I mean you would think that since rally is not so physical, that rally drivers would be even older. Or is it a case that you have to be young and stupid to do it? Didn't Mario Andretti tried to enter Indy 500 when he was in his sixties? Now that is a bit old.

I don't know. I still think its a lot of work. Maybe rally isn't as physical. I don't know. What I do know is that after 15 minutes of driving a go kart around a local track, I was panting, my arms were sore and my ribs bruised from the g-forces pushing me into the seat. Now, I have to admit, I'm not that fit but it gives you a new appreciation for racing drivers who keep this up for 6 times as long and probably experience 2 or 3 times the g-forces. Mind you, on the kart track, the longest break you get from cornering is about 3 seconds.

S. Loeb going to be unbeatable legend of WRC. He looks unstopable.
