Actually, I think Turkey is pretty cool, but the rest of the list is pretty on target:

I just love these Rick Santorum vs Ron Paul debates. There was a great one tonight, but I have not found it yet on Youtube. This one from a month ago nicely sets the tone:

And a longer version of the same exchange:

2011 Revenues for Major League Sports in the United States:

NFL (American Football)....11 billion
MLB (Baseball).................7 billion
NBA (Basektball)..............4.3 billion
NHL (Hockey)..................3.3 billion
MLS (Soccer..what everyone else calls football): ... 0.28 !!!

Anyhow, don't have the figures from various racings series (F1, Indy Cars, NASCAR) near at hand to compare to.

A nice little article from famous conservative American columnist Ann Coulter, title is: Any Growing Interest in Soccer a Sign of Nation's Moral Decay

Yea, an interesting dynamic there...tying a particular sport to liberalism, immigration, and "moral decay."

Hilarious but then I've seen enough similar pieces about American Football to know that this is not an isolated case. I would even guess this is Coulter giving payback.

Well, British comedians ragging on Americans is nothing new, so no surprise there. The odd aspect of Coutler's article is how she ties the sport to "moral decay."

Yeah, well, I saw her a few years ago say some stuff on camera during national broadcast, which any junior high school student could refute for factual errors contained within, and I thought then, that her "career" - whatever that is - is finished. Looking at dates today, obviously I was wrong, and she is still with us and flourishing, thus must have her following, otherwise she would not get the exposure. That's however not funny at all. Regarding general views on soccer/football in NA, although not formulated as she has done it, I heard on public waves quite often from more broadcaster who do denigrate the game every chance they get. Frequently it was framed as the "European game", and we cannot have that Eurotrash in here. As a boy I grew actually with football game played daily after school in any backyard, and loved the game almost as much as F1, even if I don't watch it regularly anymore.
Whatever you do, don’t just do it. Push it forward! [Whitelines]
