F1 Prediction Game (Interforum League) 2014

Postby pob on Thu Mar 06, 2014 4:40 pm

The season is about to start, so it's time for you to make your predictions for this year's interforum league! :yay:

If you are late joining, don't worry, you will get some points for each race you missed (usually 20), and you can still help the forum in the league.

How to play:
  • Register on zdkf1and start your nickname with “gp_”. (If you forget or are an old player returning from a previous season, please edit your nickname here.)
  • Predict the pole position, pole time and top 10 finishers for each race.
  • The prediction deadline is 10pm (GMT) on the Thursday before each race (except Monaco).
  • How the scoring works on zdkf1

In addition to helping the forum fight against other f1 forums for the (poorly photoshopped) league trophy, you will be competing for individual awards including: individual champion (most points on zdkf1); 6 tenths award (for most league points scored); quali trophy (for best pole time predictor), and the much-coveted bernie medal (for most victories).

There's one week until the prediction deadline for the first race. Driver classifications should be added to the website shortly.

Good luck everyone!

So is the grandprix.com forum not participating?

Nope, not as far as I am aware. I played a couple of years ago as did a few others from here and I actually did quite well, I didn't sign up last year as I wasn't going to watch F1, and this year... well I just didn't feel like playing I suppose.

As fas as I can recall, there was me, Dev, Sinister, Crossa and Ian K who signed up to play. Can't think of anyone else who joined and not all of them played to the end of the season, Dev and I did but I'm not sure about anyone else. I'm pretty sure Sinister lost his log in and gave up mid way through.

So we have no representation now? Is it too late to put together a group?

We're 10 races into a 19 race season, it's a little late to start putting in a team now. I'll make you a deal though Lawrence, I'll sign up next year and encourage as many people to play as I can, if you promise to play too.

Now I don't want to blow my own trumpet, but I am playing a different F1 game with some mates this year (totally different concept to this game) and yet again I'm leading our group league, out of about 13,000 who are playing I'm currently 15th in the world ;) So I'm pretty good at these things as a rule. We'll try and get gp.com some glory in 2015 if we can!!

Lawrence, if you join midseason you get about 20 points for each race you missed and it might be a good idea to use the rest of this season to practice as the points system can get a bit of getting used to (you get more points for getting less likely predictions correct, e.g. you get more points for predicting Massa to win than Hamilton to win).

How to play:
  • Register on zdkf1and start your nickname with “gp_”. (If you forget or are an old player returning from a previous season, please edit your nickname here.)
  • Predict the pole position, pole time and top 10 finishers for each race.
  • The prediction deadline is 10pm (UK time) on the Thursday before each race.
  • How the scoring works on zdkf1 (although the risk bonus points on that link are out of date. The risk factor boundaries are actually <=19; 20-22; 23-25; 26-28; 29+)

The prediction deadline for Hungary is 22 hours away.

Thanks. Not sure I will get it done in time for Hungary, but will certainly try it for the next race.
