Yup, I'm hopeful the New F1 would showcase a more exciting race at Valencia. :dance2:

Regarding the weather, we need to ask GWaB. He is closest to the sky. :hihi:

Not I'm stuck on the ground a long way from home for potentially another 3 days.

That ash has come the long way around the world to get to us. Where are you stuck at. I'll send a water taxi to get you.

Honolulu... That water taxi better have a big fuel tank. Better yet leave me here... Why would I want to go home? The weather is perfect, the girls wear bikinis, the beach is a 1 minute walk from my hotel (which I don't have to pay for) vs being at home in Melbourne, where the weather is terrible, the girls are fat and the beach is too cold to drive the 45 minutes to get to.

I think the girls in bikinis is the best part of that argument.

Why is it so foggy in Valencia anyway? (f1.com prediction)

Autosport claims that all 3 days will be bright and sunny.

I'm predicting a very strong showing from Vettel and Alonso :reallyevil:

I am assuming the fog rolls in off the sea? It is a port after all that can happen but it's odd this time of year I'd have thought.

Sounds awful for you GWAB, how will you stand it? :hihi:

Autosport wrote:Formula 1 teams are to face a further clampdown on engine mapping use from this weekend's European Grand Prix, AUTOSPORT has learned, with the FIA moving to eradicate special qualifying-only settings

Ahead of the effective ban on the off-throttle use of blown diffusers from next month's British Grand Prix, motor racing's governing body has shown it is determined to prevent teams from using any form of clever engine use to help aerodynamic performance.

In a note sent from F1 technical delegate Charlie Whiting to the teams, he made it clear that with immediate effect teams will no longer be allowed to change engine maps between qualifying and the race.

Such a move will effectively prevent teams from running an extreme engine map for qualifying - such as one that produces more exhaust blowing or burns more fuel – and then reverting to a safer setting for the grand prix itself.

Seems the FIA are out to make sure they all have a level playing field then. Not sure if this will make much of a difference or not, again, time will tell
